M4 James Ruse Drive on-ramp closure

8 Jun 2017

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions for the James Ruse Drive westbound on-ramp to the M4 this weekend.

WestConnex New M4 Project Director Terry Chapman said as widening of the M4 between Parramatta and Homebush neared completion, the ramp needed to close for essential work to allow four lanes to open to traffic westbound.

“We thank motorists for their patience as work continues to complete the widening of the M4 to four lanes in each direction,” Mr Chapman said.

“James Ruse Drive westbound on-ramp will be closed to traffic from 11pm Saturday 10 June to 5am Monday 12 June, weather permitting, to allow for final asphalting work.

“Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time, with the M4 still accessible via the nearby Woodville Road and Silverwater Road westbound on-ramps.

“We are working hard to deliver travel time savings to motorists travelling between Parramatta and Homebush and we ask everyone to drive with care as traffic changes are progressively implemented along the M4 in the coming weeks.”

Electronic message signs will be in place to alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.

The M4 is being widened from three to four lanes in each direction along an eight kilometre stretch between Church Street, Parramatta and Homebush Bay Drive, Homebush.

The widened New M4 will be the first section of WestConnex to open to traffic in mid-2017.
