Community information centre for the M4-M5 Link Tunnels open in Haberfield
8 Feb 2019
A new community information centre has opened on Parramatta Road, Haberfield, providing the community with direct access to the latest information on the M4-M5 Link Tunnels section of the WestConnex project.
The space will provide an important information hub for residents, businesses and other stakeholders which will also be used for community information sessions and meetings.
“With site establishment work now under way and tunnelling on track to start mid-year, we want to make it as easy as possible for the community to stay updated on the project,” M4-M5 Link mainline tunnels Project Director Terry Chapman Said.
“The community information centre is one part of an ongoing community engagement program with the local community that includes community reference groups, information sessions and direct written notifications to households.
“The centre provides a modern and comfortable space for visitors to meet with the community engagement team and ask questions and learn about the progress of the project.
“The space will also include resources and up-to-date images from site to provide visitors with further insight into the M4-M5 Link Tunnels project.
“It’s also a place for the community to find out about general construction activities including progress of the site establishment work and upcoming start of tunnelling.”
The M4-M5 Link is the most critical stage of WestConnex providing the missing underground link between the New M5 at St Peters and the New M4 at Haberfield to create a western bypass of the CBD, which will allow the full benefits of WestConnex to be realised.
The M4-M5 Community Information Centre is located at 201-205 Parramatta Road, Haberfield (at the corner of Alt Street with access via Alt Street) and is open weekdays from 9am to 5pm (excluding public holidays).
