M4 night closures at Concord

16 Aug 2017

Motorists are advised of upcoming overnight road closures on the M4 Motorway at Concord as work continues on the WestConnex New M4 twin tunnels.

The M4 will be closed westbound between Parramatta Road, Concord and Homebush Bay Drive, Homebush and eastbound between Sydney Street and Parramatta Road, Concord from 11pm to 5am, Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 August and again on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 August. The closures will allow steel girders to be installed for the new M4 Westbound on-ramp.

New M4 Project Director Terry Chapman said both directions of the M4 would be closed for the safety of motorists and workers.

“We thank motorists for their patience while this important overnight work is carried out to deliver the New M4 from Homebush to Haberfield,” Mr Chapman said.

“The closures will enable the installation of steel girders which will support a new on-ramp from Concord Road southbound to the M4 westbound.”

Motorists are encouraged to plan their journey in advance, allow extra travel time and follow the signs. Detours will be in place, with access to the M4 westbound available via Silverwater Road or Homebush Bay Drive

A further four two-night closures are scheduled for September, October, and November 2017.
