New M5 EIS information sessions to run in December and January

Information sessions for the New M5 tunnels from Kingsgrove to St Peters will take place in December and January ensuring that local residents have the opportunity to ask questions about the project. The New M5 Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is currently on exhibition for community consultation until Friday 29 January 2016. There will be seven information sessions held along the project corridor. Stage 2 Project Director Ken Reynolds said that the local community, businesses and motorists can attend these sessions to better understand the scope and benefits of the project. “I urge all interested community members to attend an information session and take advantage of the extended nine week exhibition period for the New M5 EIS,” said Mr Reynolds. The upcoming seven information sessions are scheduled for: Wednesday 2 December Rowers on Cooks River 4.00pm to 7.30pm Saturday 5 December Kingsgrove RSL 10.00am to 1.00pm Saturday 12 December WestConnex pop-up shop (Unit B2, 238 Princes Hwy) 10.00am to 1.00pm Tuesday 15 December Mascot Town Hall 4.00pm to 7.30pm Saturday 16 January Bexley RSL 10.00am to 1.00pm Monday 18 January WestConnex pop-up shop (Unit B2, 238 Princes Hwy) 4.00pm to 7.30pm Thursday 21 January Rowers on Cooks River 4.00pm to 7.30pm The New M5 EIS is available online at www.westconnex.com.au and is also on display at 20 locations including local libraries and councils. Following exhibition of the EIS, a submissions report will be provided to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment.
