Changed traffic conditions on Campbell Street and Princes Highway St Peters

Motorists are advised from the end of this month changed traffic conditions will be in place on the Princes Highway and Campbell Street at St Peters as part of work to deliver the WestConnex New M5 project. New M5 Director Ken Reynolds said the temporary changes were required to progress the upgrade and widening of Campbell Road which will connect to the future St Peters Interchange and to facilitate utility work. “From Monday 30 October until early December weather permitting, temporary road closures and traffic changes will be in place on Campbell Street and Campbell Road between the Princes Highway and Burrows Road, and Crown Street, St Peters while work is carried out for the New M5 project,” Mr Reynolds said. The changes include: Campbell Street will be closed in both directions, between Crown Street and Barwon Park Road. There will be no right turn from the Princes Highway into Campbell Street east of the Princes Highway. Campbell Road will be reduced to eastbound traffic only between Euston Road and Burrows Road. Campbell Street will be reduced to westbound traffic only between Princes Highway and Crown Street for local traffic only. There will be no access to Campbell Road from Burrows Road Motorists needing to access Campbell Road from Burrows Road will be detoured via Huntley Street and Sydney Park Road. “While the Campbell Street closure is in place, Crown Street traffic direction will be reversed to southbound one-way only, with access provided for local traffic only,” Mr Reynolds said. “To prevent detour traffic including heavy vehicles from using Crown Street traffic control and signage will be in place to assist road users.” “Local access to Campbell Road will be maintained in both directions between Barwon Park Road and Euston Road.” Motorists should allow for more travel time in the local area while the changed traffic conditions are in place, follow the signs, and check www.livetraffic.com and transportnsw.info for the latest updates. Sydney Motorway Corporation is delivering upgraded and widened local roads around the St Peters Interchange in St Peters, Mascot and Alexandria, as part of the WestConnex New M5. Campbell Street, Campbell Road and Euston Road will be widened between Campbell Road and Maddox Street. Work to deliver these local road upgrades will be completed in 2020.
