Hill Road closure for M4 Widening
28 Oct 2016
Motorists are advised to plan ahead with temporary access changes planned for Hill Road and the M4 Motorway from Sunday night as work continues on the M4 Widening project. Hill Road will be closed between Parramatta Road and Old Hill Link Road at Sydney Olympic Park during the following times: From 11pm on Sunday 30 to 4am on Monday 31 October From 11pm on Monday 31 October to 4am on Tuesday 1 November During the closures motorists travelling east will not be able to turn off the M4 Motorway onto Hill Road. Hill Road motorists will also not be able to access the M4 westbound. In addition, on nights between Monday 31 October and Friday 4 November the eastbound carriageway of the M4 Motorway will be closed between Silverwater Road and Parramatta Road. Project Director Terry Chapman said electronic message signs and traffic controllers will be in place to direct motorists to use Silverwater road and Homebush Bay Drive during the closures. “Work is progressing on the M4 Widening project, which will deliver four lanes in each direction between Parramatta and Homebush,” Mr Chapman said. “A key feature of the M4 Widening is improved access from Hill Road to the M4 to provide better access to the Sydney Olympic Park precinct, commercial and residential areas. “The closure has been scheduled outside peak travel times to minimise disruptions for motorists and will allow traffic barriers to be installed safely and efficiently. “Road users are asked to plan their journeys in advance, check live traffic for the latest updates and allow extra travel time.” For the latest traffic information, visit www.livetraffic.com.
